Big Island Baptist Church

We are blessed with a variety of gifts and talents in our church family. One of the most visible examples of this is in our music ministry. Some of these include:

ADULT CHOIR

Our volunteer choir is led and accompanied by Oscar Brooks. The choir is a vital part of our worship experience each Sunday and various other special events.

HANDBELLS

A recent addition to our church’s music ministry, the Handbell Choir is a group of all ages that rehearses throughout most of the year, and performs in a variety of settings.

SOLOISTS

Very often, we encourage those in our church family to share their gifts with us through solos and ensembles. We have many who sing, and others who contribute by playing the guitar, piano, flute, mandolin, trumpet, and more!

Easter and Christmas Cantatas

Twice a year our adult choir offers a special time of music and worship.

Big Island Community Sing

Our church family extends beyond our walls, and every 5^th Sunday during the year, we gather with sister churches around the community for a wonderful time of sharing in music, worship, and fellowship. Some of these churches are Big Island Methodist Church, Hunting Creek Baptist Church, Otterville Baptist Church, Reed Creek Baptist Church, and Sharon Baptist Church. These 5^th Sunday sings have become one of our most highly anticipated events.

Christmas Concerts

Christmas is a rich musical time in the life of our church. Typically we have special performances from our Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, Youth & Children, and more!
